We are looking for two (2) application experts in data science

About the job

As an application expert in data science, you will be responsible for developing techniques to process large-scale data, specifically managing the entire lifecycle of important reference data. You will work on establishing repositories for datasets that are particularly important for Swedish use, as well as interacting with the Swedish ecosystem in the form of other infrastructures and large users to ensure that we handle data according to FAIR principles. You will also work on developing European “Data Spaces” as platforms for working with AI methods on data, as well as developing techniques to handle sensitive personal data correctly according to GDPR and other legislation.

Requirements for the position:

• Completed academic education at the master's level in a relevant field for the position
• Experience in research within data science and artificial intelligence
• Experience in compiling, curating, and working with large datasets
• Recognized good communication skills in spoken and written English
• Ability to convincingly convey the engagement and significance of a complex scientific project to various stakeholders

Meritorious for the position:

• Licentiate or doctoral degree in data science or another relevant field
• Experience from projects within data science
• Experience working at a multinational level and contacts with international organizations and funders.
• Experience from EU and/or EuroHPC projects.
• Experience in establishing larger databases and repositories with research data
• Experience collaborating with companies in data science
• Familiarity with data and AI challenges, particularly in life sciences, materials science, autonomous systems, climate research, or large-scale language models.
• Experience working with information security, advising, and applying laws and regulations regarding research ethics and export control.
• Experience working with and designing environments for sensitive data, for example in life sciences, finance, or critical and security-sensitive operations.
• Experience developing, validating, or deploying AI systems in accordance with principles for trustworthy AI (such as robustness, fairness, transparency, and accountability)
• Very good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish

You will work at the national academic infrastructure for supercomputers in Sweden (NAISS), which is a center located at Campus Valla with Linköping University as the host.
